Steel Magnolias Fashion with a Modern Twist

Steel Magnolias is a great movie that features amazing actors such as Dolly Parton and Julie Roberts. These actors were great in this movie and earned many awards including an Oscar nominee for Julia Roberts for best supporting actress.

To say the least Steel Mags' was an amazing movie with a cast of legends, but how would this amazing movie look in the eyes of our generation. The clothing is a staple in that movie with all of the beautiful gowns and dresses so today we take a look back to the past and transform it into our modern fashions.

One of our favorite outfits is Ouiser's overalls and we think, because they are super hot right now we will recreate an outfit with our own modern twist.

Now what better way to push off from Ouiser than with the leading lady Dolly Parton who plays Truvy. Truvy has a very Grandma-ish look that we think we can sister snap together and make her look poppin.

I think we can all relate to this one at one point in our life. Annelle's outfits look just a teeny tiny bit on the underwhelming side. So we're here to create a look for her that shows off her style in a way that will make you take a third look.

Now there's no way that we can do this without the iconic Julie Roberts wedding dress that her character, shelby, wears. We all looked in awe when she first came down the aisle but today when we look back it looks very different with the new advances in fashion. So without further adieu here comes the bride...

This has been so much fun and we feel we have done an amazing job with these less than perfect dresses as we gave them the modern touch they needed.
